Best Fall Weekend – October 10th & 11th | Chicago Moms Network

We’re about to have a gorgeous warm weather weekend here in Chicago! This could be our last little taste of summer, so let’s take advantage with these perfect family-friendly outdoor activities:

Plan a harvest themed feast after a visit to the Green City Market

Visit the Green City Market in Lincoln Park on Saturday Oct 11th from 7am-1pm. Need a recipe to plan your perfect harvest feast? The Green City Market has you covered with recipes for every season here. Although Club Sprouts is temporarily suspended, you can order a Club Sprouts activity kit with delicious seasonal recipes and arts & crafts for your children! Order the kit here. Kit pick-up or delivery is on Wednesday October 14th.

Pose for your fall family photo op at the city’s best pumpkin pop-up

Jack’s Pumpkin is a pumpkin patch pop-up, right in the heart of the city! Although things will look a little different this year (no food or beverage for example), you can still find the perfect pumpkin and get a festive fall picture with your family at one of the many amazing photo ops! Jack’s Pumpkin Pop-Up is located at 1465 N Elston. Reserve your timed entry before you visit here. Children 4 and under are free!

Sing, dance, and brunch with your little ones on a lovely outdoor patio

Sing and dance with your kids at a morning music class by the Music Playhouse of Chicago at Tuco and Blondie! Saturday & Sunday at 9am. Stay for brunch and your kids eat free! Make a reservation for class here. Make a reservation for brunch here.

Savor the warm fall weather with an autumn themed ice cream pop

The weather this weekend is supposed to be one last taste of summer, so don’t waste your opportunity to cool off at Pretty Cool Ice Cream in Logan Square! The ice cream bars and popsicles in the harvest collection are absolutely worth a field trip to this store! Try one flavor (apple cider donut, Spiced apple cider truck pop, kettle corn, or pumpkin piesicle), or try them all in the Fall Harvest Festival box (2 of each for $35).

Dive into some popcorn (and embrace the long weekend) with a Sunday night movie at the drive-in

Although it seemed like there were a lot of options for drive-in movies in the area this summer, I was never able to take my kids due to the late start times! As it gets darker earlier, the movies are now starting at a much more do-able 7pm. Catch Shrek at ChiTown Movies on Sunday October 11th, at 7pm. Tickets can be found here. Food and Drink are available for purchase, and will even be delivered right to your car!

Have a wonderful weekend!
