Enjoy an interactive look behind the scenes at the Nature Museum
Join the club! On Saturday January 16th from 12:30-1:30pm, The Curiosity Club is diving into bugs, fossils, and more! Young scientists ages 5-9 will get an up-close look at the museum collections and more through this virtual, interactive experience. This week’s theme is “Is It Real!?”. Join educators Becca and Nicole for an interactive Collections connection! You’ll peek behind the scenes to learn more about what’s in the museum’s natural history collection and why museums keep collections. Experience virtual penguin and sea otter encounters with the Shedd
The Shedd Aquarium has a full lineup of animal encounters this weekend, including sea lions, sea otters, and penguins! In the virtual animal encounters, come face-to-face with the adorable animals that call Shedd home. This experience is all about getting up close (virtually)! The 35–40 minute virtual encounters will take place on Zoom so you can enjoy the experience without leaving home. On both Saturday and Sunday, the sea otter encounter is at 11am, the penguin encounter is at 1pm, and the sea lion encounter is at 3pm. Register here.

All through January, celebrate hot chocolate month at Stan’s! Try their new pink hot chocolate or malt hot chocolate! My daughter is super excited to read our favorite “Pinkalicious” books, and then visit Stan’s for a pink treat. We’ll definitely be leaving with plenty of donuts as well 🙂
Embrace a summer state of mind with Moana at ChiTown Movies
Warm away the January chill with Summer Blockbusters at ChiTown Movies! Sing Beach Boys “Car”aoke before the movie! Enjoy Boardwalk Pizza, beach drinks, and hot drinks delivered to your vehicle! Take photo ops in the tropical sandbox! Moana starts at 5pm, which is great for those early bedtimes. We’ve been dying to get back to ChiTown Movies since visiting for The Santa Clause over the holidays, and we are so excited to head back for Moana.
