Happy March! Spring is in the air, and I am READY. This weekend brings more museum re-openings, some exciting virtual events, and even a beer collaboration to support our favorite zoo! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend with your families! 

Learn a thing or two about our city at the Chicago History Museum

The Chicago History Museum reopens this weekend, with covid precautions in place! The Museum brings Chicago’s history to life through over 22 million artifacts, exhibits, and interactive programming. Entry is timed (either morning or afternoon entry timeframe). Be sure to purchase tickets in advance here

Enjoy a virtual Women’s History Month story time (and craft!)

On Saturday March 6th from 10-11am, join Ms. Corina from the Back of the Yards Chicago Public Library branch for a Super Girls Story Time & Craft! Ms. Corina will share songs, rhymes, and books, plus suggestions for at-home crafts to honor and celebrate the girls and women in your life. For ages 2-7! Be sure to register in advance! 

Join in on Hyde Park Art Center’s “Center Sundays” from home 

Every First Sunday of the month, Hyde Park Art Center is activated with activities throughout the center for the public, neighbors, and families. Join in on the next Virtual Center Sunday on March 7th from 1-5pm for a family friendly filled day with intergenerational art making activities, artist workshops, artist talks, open studios, curatorial tours of our exhibitions, and community collaborations. Embrace your inner superhero at the MSI reopening weekend

The Museum of Science and Industry will be reopening to members starting March 4th, and to the public on March 7th! Be sure to visit the new Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes Exhibit while you are there! Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes celebrates Marvel history with more than 300 artifacts including original comic book pages, sculptures, interactive displays and costumes and props from Marvel’s blockbuster films. Guests can examine the origins of iconic characters such as Spider-Man, Black Panther, Hulk, and Captain Marvel and see how they have evolved alongside society over the past 80 years, making these characters a pop culture mainstay. Support the Lincoln Park Zoo by enjoying their “Grin and Bear It” collaboration with DryHop

Celebrate the re-opening of the Lincoln Park Zoo with the Beers & Bears Celebration! All-Inclusive tickets are sold out, but you can still purchase a 32-ounce crowler of Lincoln Park Zoo’s collaboration beer with DryHop! It’s a milkshake IPA with huckleberry, hazelnut, and honey!
